Schedule Meeting

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the cost of an introductory meeting?

There is no cost or obligation with an introductory meeting. It’s important that we get to know each other before deciding to work together.

What should I expect from an introductory meeting?

Introductory meetings are a casual conversation where we learn more about your situation and objectives to determine if our approach and services are a good fit. Prospective clients are encouraged to not only share about themselves, but also to ask questions of us. Introductory meetings typically last about 30-40 minutes. We hope and expect to work with our clients for many years. Therefore, it's important we spend the time upfront to ensure alignment of values and to begin building mutual trust.

Where do you meet with clients?

We offer clients the choice of either a virtual meeting or an in-person meeting. In-person meetings may be conducted at a client's residence, our Wilsonville office, or our Bend office. If accommodations are needed or an alternate meeting location is preferred, please just ask.

How often do you meet with clients? What if I have questions between meetings?

For existing clients, we typically will meet 2-4 times each year. For new clients in the process of onboarding and for existing clients experiencing a life change, additional meetings will be scheduled as needed. Between meetings, we typically answer questions and follow-up on action items by phone and email. Clients should not hesitate to pick up the phone or send an email as questions arise or their situation changes. Additionally, we utilize a variety of modern, secure technology tools aimed at informing and engaging clients on a regular basis.

Do you provide advice related to employer stock (RSUs, ESPP, ISOs, etc.)?

Absolutely. With six years of combined experience at Intel and Nike, we are well-versed in employer stock and will consider concentrated positions as part of the financial planning process.

What are your required asset minimums?

We do not have minimum asset requirements. One of our core beliefs is that professional advice should be accessible to everyone.

How will my accounts be protected?

Charles Schwab (our custodian of choice) has multiple layers or levels of coverage to protect and safeguard client assets. More information and coverage details can be found at the following website. https://www.schwab.com/legal/account-protection

Do you follow or recommend individual stocks?

Research has shown and continues to show that predicting the next great stock or attempting to time the market cannot be done both consistently and successfully. Instead, we focus on what we can control – utilizing low cost securities and asset allocation to maximize long-term returns. Please see our investment philosophy for more on this.

Can you help with my taxes?

Yes! Financial Planning clients may elect to have us prepare and file their annual income tax returns. This service is in addition to the tax planning strategies we employ and is included at no additional charge. We do not perform tax related work as a stand-alone service.
